Rick McKay

Rick McKay began playing live aged 11 and played in various local bands until he was offered the lead role in "Forever Elvis”, which toured the UK for 10 years and became the first rock musical to tour Russia in 1989.

He has performed as a solo artist with UK stars such as, Mike Reid, The Searchers, Barron Knights, Rockin' Berries and many others.

In 1994 Rick moved to Nashville after signing with GMC Records, working extensively with Waylon Jennings' producer and drummer, Ritchie Albright. On his return to the UK, Rick and his band backed legendary country artist, Billie Jo Spears.

Rick co-produced and directed, "The Thunder Rolls" in which he played country superstar, Garth Brooks, and “Cash Revisited”, in which he currently performs with wife, Jodie McKay, in the roles of Johnny Cash and June Carter.

Rick writes and record his own music and has played with numerous bands on the British rock 'n' roll scene and all over Europe. He currently alternates between double bass, lead guitar, occasionally drums, and various guest roles in other theatre productions around the UK.

Having made occasional appearances previously in “Walk Right Back” Rick is proud to have been asked to become a regular member of the cast this time around. You’ll see him playing double/electric Bass, and in the role of Johnny Cash.
